Feats of legend
used to come in war,
works done
with tragically blessed hands.
It is still hands and bodies
entrancing us: the pass,
the catch, the last second
shot, the acrobatic touchdown
unbelievable, even in slow motion.
What kind of miracles are these
done by men?
Is this where the "image of God"
comes in?
